About Us

The Cricketers is a quaint historic establishment dating back to the mid 16th century, set in heavy oak beams and supports, crooked walls, low ceilings, open log fires and simple comfortable country furnishings.

Now under new ownership, whilst maintaining the unique charm and tradition that the Cricketers is known and loved for, we hope you’ll agree we’ve made some exciting changes to include: new menus for adults and children, traditional Sunday roasts, BBQ's and takeaway coffee.

We are available for parties and events from 10 up to 140 guests, along with a private function room with outdoor garden area (please see events and function room tab). Please speak to Max or Andy for more information.

We offer a traditional and inviting environment to meet with friends and family, to enjoy great food and drink, with our sunny beer garden overlooking both Downside Common and the Village green.

We have a large car park and there are two playgrounds on the common. Dogs are welcome, we provide water bowls and treats at the bar!
